Linux news getting buried?

An article in the Inquirer has reported that Linux news on sites such as Digg, reddit, and StumbleUpon is being buried. According to Computerworld's Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols, pro-Linux and anti-Microsoft stories are getting buried within an hour of being published.

Popularity rating systems can be open to abuse and results can be skewed. One thing for sure, if 95% of users are using Windows and 1-2% are using Linux then Windows supporters will always be able to bury Linux news items where there is a voting mechanism employed.

One may say that the underdog cannot win in this scenario. However, for me, it makes me want to make Linux even better in quality and usability so that we can win the argument based on hard facts rather than arbitrary voting patterns.

Anyone care to add their 2 cents worth?
